Lanificio Digitale

About us

We started with a place and an intention.

Lanificio Digitale grew out of Davide Bussetti’s experience as an entrepreneur and engineer, and out of a wish to give back what that experience taught: skills, tools and relationships, made available to new initiatives and new talent, within a project that also has to stand on its own as a business.

Where it began

No one innovates alone

The knowledge and skills needed to innovate are widely distributed, and no company, whatever its capabilities and size, can innovate effectively on its own.

The founder

Who started the Lanificio

  • Davide Bussetti
    Founder and CEO

    Davide Bussetti

An ICT engineer and entrepreneur, he works where technology, business, and regional development meet. He founded Lanificio Digitale to turn a historic Naples landmark into a capability factory, where people, organizations, and ideas can grow together.

He champions Capability Engineering and leads the development of Q01, the platform that brings together design, software development, and artificial intelligence to turn companies' vision into concrete, measurable, and lasting capabilities.

The core team

The pillars of Lanificio Digitale

  • Simona Zamparelli
Artistic Director & Head of Communication

    Simona Zamparelli

A philosopher of art, she brings to Lanificio Digitale a perspective that connects culture, people, and innovation. She leads communication and helps shape the project's story, creating opportunities for dialogue between business, research, and the creative world.

Within the Capability Engineering journey, she contributes to the reflection on the relationship between people, technology, and organizational transformation. Her work puts the meaning of innovation at its center: what possibilities it opens, what responsibilities it brings, and how it can create value for the community.

  • Pasquale Punzo
DevOps Engineer — Q01 Platform Team

    Pasquale Punzo

He looks after the infrastructure and automation processes that support Q01, creating the conditions for reliable, secure, and scalable software development. His work connects development and operations, from environment management to release pipelines and running services.

At Lanificio Digitale he helps build the technology foundation of the Capability Factory, enabling teams to work without interruption and companies to bring their digital capabilities into production.

  • Mauro Spinelli
Product Owner — Q01 Platform Team

    Mauro Spinelli

He leads the evolution of Q01, translating the vision of Capability Engineering into concrete features and tools for companies. As Product Owner, he connects the needs of organizations with the work of the development teams, setting the platform's priorities and growth paths.

His contribution makes Q01 a tool that can guide people and teams from design to delivery, bringing together software development, artificial intelligence, and process governance.

  • Filippo D’Arrigo
Project Manager, Startup Bundle and Outdoor Team Building

    Filippo D’Arrigo

He coordinates Lanificio Digitale's Startup Bundle innovation programs, guiding entrepreneurial teams through activity planning and progress tracking, and connecting them with the expertise of the Q01 ecosystem. He supports the journey from idea to execution, keeping goals, resources, and priorities aligned.

A certified instructor of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), he leads outdoor team building programs, with a particular focus on sailing experiences. He designs and runs activities that strengthen collaboration, trust, and shared responsibility, linking crew dynamics to the work of innovation teams: coordinating roles, handling the unexpected, and holding a common course.

  • Luca Nevola
Project Manager — Innovation Programs and Academy

    Luca Nevola

He helps coordinate Lanificio Digitale's innovation programs, supporting activity planning, progress tracking, and collaboration between teams. He works alongside project leads on gathering documentation and reporting on research and development projects.

He supports team onboarding into the Q01 ecosystem and helps organize the Academy's learning paths, making it easier to adopt tools and ways of working. He combines organizational skills, curiosity, and willingness to help, connecting people, activities, and goals.

Media partner · Italia Economy

Italia Economy is a multichannel editorial project that tells the story of local economies, giving a voice to companies, institutions and the people driving innovation.

Lanificio Digitale is its reference partner in Campania, within the Campania Economy project. It is a collaboration that creates opportunities for dialogue between business, research, culture and the region.

Together we worked on Disegnare il Futuro Campania, held on September 9, 2026 at the Apple Developer Academy of the University of Naples Federico II. The journey continues on November 5, 2026 with Innovazione in Viaggio, at our home in the Ex Lanificio Borbonico.

Our story

An open place

We began as an Open Innovation Hub in the Ex Lanificio Borbonico, a former royal wool mill in the Santa Caterina a Formiello complex. The idea was simple: bring companies, startups, universities, young talent and cultural organizations together in one place, because the knowledge needed to innovate is spread out and no one holds all of it.

Events, workshops, partnerships with institutions and cultural projects grew around the place. Through Happy Building and New Fluxus, Simona Zamparelli shaped the cultural side of the project: the quality of spaces and relationships, encounters with art, and room for people to express what they can do.

The limit we kept hitting

Project after project, the same difficulty came back. Initiatives started with energy, but when a piece of work ended, the knowledge often stayed with the people or vendors who had produced it. For the company, it was hard to find past decisions, reuse what had been built and keep developing it.

That is where PLAN came from: keeping the platform, the place, learning and the partner network together in every program, instead of treating them as separate resources.

A platform so we don’t start over

For the digital side we developed Q01, which started as a Platform Engineering platform: shared environments, releases and rules to build software in an orderly, repeatable way, without reinventing the infrastructure for every project.

With AI, a new question

When AI agents joined our teams, work sped up and the problem became clearer. You can build faster, but more has to be coordinated: context, data, responsibilities, costs. Our program experience led us to a different question: not just what to build, but what the organization needs to become able to do, and how to keep that ability over time.

The answer we are working on today is called Capability Engineering. It is a young discipline that we are developing together with anyone who wants to contribute, and Q01 is evolving to support it.

Where we are today

Today the Lanificio works as a Capability Factory, supporting companies, startups and universities with programs, a platform, applied learning and partners. Naples is the first place where we are consolidating this way of working; the renovation of the spaces is under way and is happening in stages.

Milestones

From Open Innovation Hub to Capability Factory

Each step came from a limit we met in the one before.

  1. 01

    Open Innovation Hub

A meeting place for companies, startups, universities, talent and culture.

  2. 02

    PLAN

Platform, place, learning and network kept together in every program.

  3. 03

    Q01

A Platform Engineering platform for building in an orderly, repeatable way.

  4. 04

    AI and program experience

People and AI agents in the same teams: more speed, more to coordinate.

  5. 05

    Capability Engineering

A discipline in progress for building capabilities organizations can retain.

Urban and cultural regeneration

A gesture toward the city

Lanificio Digitale is based in the Ex Lanificio Borbonico, a former royal wool mill in the Santa Caterina a Formiello complex near Porta Capuana. It is a building made for production, which we are renovating to host innovation, learning, art and business.

The spaces are opening in stages. They already host teams, events and cultural projects; the rest grows with the renovation and with the community that uses them.
